Privacy Policy

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data. This page explains what is collected, why, and your options.

What is collected

When you visit this site, GA4 automatically records:

  • pages visited and time spent on each
  • general geographic region (country/state level — not precise location)
  • device type, browser, and operating system
  • how you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, direct link)
  • interactions such as clicking the calculator or outbound support links

IP addresses are anonymised before being processed. No personally identifiable information is collected.

This site has no accounts, no login, and no contact forms. The novated lease calculator runs entirely in your browser — no inputs you enter into the calculator are transmitted to this site or to Google.

Why it is collected

Usage data helps understand which content is most useful, where the calculator is being accessed from, and whether site improvements are having the desired effect. It is used solely to maintain and improve this site.

No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.

How Google handles the data

GA4 is operated by Google. Google's data processing and privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Data collected via GA4 may be stored on Google's servers, which may be located outside Australia.

Data retention

GA4 data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's systems.

Your options

You can limit or prevent GA4 data collection in several ways:

  • Browser settings: most modern browsers allow you to block third-party scripts or enable "Do Not Track"
  • Google's opt-out extension: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 from collecting data across all sites
  • Ad or script blockers: extensions such as uBlock Origin will block the GA4 script entirely

Australian Privacy Act

This site is operated by an individual in Australia. It is a small personal project and does not meet the threshold that triggers obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) for most small operators. Nonetheless, this policy is provided voluntarily in the interest of transparency.

Changes to this policy

If the analytics setup changes materially, this page will be updated. The site does not currently use cookies beyond those set by Google Analytics.
